Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student has knowledge of the techniques for numerical resolution and the computational tools of major importance in the field of energy engineering. The student will also be able to implement such numerical resolution techniques in MATLAB environment.
Course contents
- Error propagation in numerical analysis.
- Introduction to Matlab for the solving numerical problems.
- Finite differences methods for approximating derivatives.
- Numerical solution of ordinary and partial differential equations.
- Numerical solution of non-homogeneous systems of linear equations with direct and iterative techniques.
- Numerical solution of Fredholm-type integral equations of the second kind.
- Iterative linearization techniques for the solution of systems of nonlinear equations.
- Numerical resolution of definite integrals with Gaussian quadrature formulas.
