Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student has acquired a general knowledge of the main theoretical accounts of Psychology, of the most important cognitive processes, of the main experimental methods of cognitive psychology and their applications in the field of ergonomics
Course contents
The first part of the course will be oriented towards the general aspects of Cognitive Psychology. The aim is to give students a general idea about the historical aspects of the most important psychological schools and about the main cognitive processes studied in Psychology.
In the second part of the course, the program will face cognitive processes in more detail. The aim is the achievement of a general knowledge of the topics took into consideration and of the main experimental methods used.

Teaching methods
Lectures with power point presentations. Regular attendance is advisable since details of the lessons could be part of the exam.
Assessment methods
The final exam will be a multiple-choice test, or oral exam, aims at verifying:
1. the competence of the acquired contents
2. the level of assimilation and critical-conceptual elaboration of the proposed contents
3. the ability to orientate between the main lines of interpretation
Before verbalizing the result of the exam, the student is invited to collaborate in a laboratory research
Teaching tools
Participation to an experiment of cognitive psychology to deepen the experimental paradigms.
