Learning outcomes
The theater seminar is a training activity that integrates the educational offer of traditional courses. At the end of the seminar the student: - deepens the knowledge related to relevant aspects of theater studies; - independently applies theoretical analysis methodologies and practical activities of contemporary theater.
Course contents
China, India, Japan: on some masterpieces of Asian theater
After providing the essential coordinates for understanding and interpreting a performance of the Asian theatrical tradition, the seminar will propose the guided viewing of some masterpieces from China, India and Japan. The selected examples - anthropologically contextualized - will allow to familiarize with the actor’s techniques, the aesthetic principles and the material culture of some of the most relevant genres of theater in Asia.

Teaching methods
The seminar will combine lectures presentations and class discussion. Active student participation is a key component of the seminar.
Assessment methods
Seminar activity does not give a grade but merely a “Idoneo”/“Pass”, expressed on the basis of participation in the activities envisaged. Students must attend at least 80% of seminar lessons.
