Course contents
The seminar will organize meetings with international scholars dealing with the theme of translation, also as a philosophical theme.
Presentation of the Course: Wednesday the 15th February at 3 p.m. (aula Mondolfo, via Zamboni 38).
The lectures will focus on the theme of translation as central theme of the human sciences, which deal with different languages and need of a translation that nevertheless is not ever able to provide a true and fair view of the original meaning. The problem of translation, as philosophical theme, involves in the final analysis the impossibility of a completely faithful translation.
The specialist scholars will then show the concretes problems of translation as theoretical and practical activity.
The class will be taught by four visiting Professors. At the end of the Course, each student has to prepare a paper on a subject matter in agreement with Carlo Gentili or Mariafranca Spallanzani.
