Course contents

First 20 Hours:  Classification of different types of uncertainty present in the measurements  Description of the three types of uncertainty (systematic, gross, random) Densitiy probability function (Examples) Centrality parameters (mean, mode, median) Dispersion parameters (Variance, moments of different orders)  Study of the uncertainties of random nature.  Normal Gaussian distribution, standard normal distribution Regression line estimation using Least square approach Correlation coefficient definition

Second 20 Hours:  Introduction to issues of environmental data in the applications of Environmental Engineering: - Elements related to their acquisition and their use - extensive and intensive variables for the characterization of emissions and state of the environment.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons and some numerical practice examples using different data samples.
