73113 - Mechanical Plants and Logistics (2nd cycle)

Academic Year 2015/2016

  • Moduli: Cesare Saccani (Modulo 1) Alberto Regattieri (Modulo 2)
  • Teaching Mode: In-person learning (entirely or partially) (Modulo 1); In-person learning (entirely or partially) (Modulo 2)
  • Campus: Forli
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Mechanical Engineering (cod. 8771)

Learning outcomes

This class will go over the whole-integrated manufacturing process management in different kinds of industry: from industrial firms to service firms. The course will examine carefully main steps and functions in materials management, supply chain management,   production (product design, manufacturing schedule, assembly, and  governance control); completed item shipping and distribution ( logistics, facilities, storage, packaging, shipment, stocks management);

 Course goal  will be the understanding of the general models and features that lead to the decision, design and management of logistics systems, integrated or flexible. Systems that can successfully comprehend both actual physical flows and information flows, giving back an high-quality level of products on customer-care while reducing significantly idle times and manufacturing major costs, being also  sufficiently flexible for market-adapting re-arrangements

Course contents

**** MODULE 1 ****

Introduction to main components: valves (shutoff, regulating, mixing, diverter, pressure regulators, safety, thermostatic), actuators (pneumatic, electric, hydraulic), compressors, drain traps, filters (rooms gravity, bag filters, cartridge filters, coalescing filters), heat exchangers, instrumentation.

Normative analysis ATEX and PED. Case study: classification ATEX of an hydrogen production plant.

Plants for the exploitation of energy from biomass: solid biomass combustion process analysis, environmental impact assessments of biomass, analysis of P&I biomass boiler.
