Learning outcomes

The course objective is the up-grading of consecutive and simultaneous interpreting techniques between Spanish and Italian

Course contents

The first year program will be reviewed with the aim of resolving students' linguistic and technical  difficulties.

The main features of high quality simultaneous and consecutive interpreting (SI and CI respectively) performances will be highlighted by analysing recordings of professional interpreters in a wide variety of working settings.

Analytical, listening, concentrating and memorising skills for SI and CI will be enhanced through increasingly difficult training material.

Furthermore, the program contents aims at strengthening expressive and communicative skills. In the use of Italian and Spanish training material, special attention will be devoted to morphological, syntactical, idiomatic and pragmatic features of the language, text cohesion and coherence, neologisms, acronyms, terminology and phraseology.

Students will have to keep abreast of the following topics: economy, politics, international organizations, socio-cultural current affairs, technological and scientific developments.
