Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with the skills necessary to adopt methods and measurement tools that are most suitable for performing measurements and tests on power systems and electrical machines. In particular, issues related to the design and characterization of complex measurement systems as well as aspects related to the main tests of civil and industrial installations are addressed. The main concepts of risk analysis and safety are provided to the students. Laboratory activities are a fundamental part of the course.
Course contents
Main topics covered:
▪ testing of machinery and electrical plants
▪ voltage and current transducers for high and medium voltage
▪ Methods and instruments for the measurement of periodic disturbances and transient
▪ measures for safety and risk analysis
▪ Smart meters: measures for smart grid.
The course is supplemented by laboratory exercises.
The program will be held at the end of the course available on AMS Campus.
