Learning outcomes

At the end of the training course the student is able to make a judgment on animal morphology directed to genetic improvement.

Course contents

The learning outcomes are attained mainly by means of the direct observation of the morphology of the animals in class and during the visits to canine and feline expositions. Special attention is devoted to the knowledge and evaluation of dog and cat breeds, also in realation to specific behavioural traits and health issues.

Slides, in-farm inspections, attendance at canine and feline exhibitions.

Assessment methods

Self-evaluation tests based on the ability to recognize the different canine and feline breeds and interactive discussion of clinical cases.
