31472 - Hydrology

Academic Year 2015/2016

  • Teaching Mode: In-person learning (entirely or partially)
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Environmental Engineering (cod. 0928)

Learning outcomes

Theoretical and numerical description of different aspects of the hydrological cycle. Analysis of instruments and methods for acquisition and elaboration of hydro-metheorological data.

Course contents

Statistical analysis of data and elements of probability.

Theoretical and numerical description and analysis of:

precipitations,

evapotraspiration,

infiltration,

groundwater flow equations: grondwater flow equations, analytical solutions, parameters determination from pumping tests, groundwater flow and water works stability,

fundamentals of pollutant transport in groundwater,

Different class excercises will be developed. Students will be asked to prepare numerical works in order to be admitted to examination.
