Learning outcomes

The student knows the basic elements of Spanish literary culture - is able to identify them in specific literary texts - is able to independently develop further knowledge and skills of cultural-literary level and apply them to other literary texts

Course contents

Theatre in the first half of the Twentieth century: between tradition and innovation. The course will approach some of the aspects of Spanish drama history of the Twentieth century. Movements, genres and the most prominent authors of that age will be studied from a theoretical point of view; also Spanish language and culture of the period at issue will be considered. Relevant texts from that age will be analysed, looking into their aesthetic, socio-cultural and linguistic aspects.
