Learning outcomes
Aim of the course is to provide both basic information as to the sport education in childhood and the acquisition of some specific skills a trainer/ educator needs to promote sport activities in the schools and to motivate family cooperation. At the end of the course the student is able :
- to identify the steps necessary to develop sport activities in children;
-to evaluate the effectiveness of the sport education programs in children;
-to identify the psycho-pedagogic, technical and organizational difficulties in distinct phases of sport education in children and apply the most effective techniques to overcome them;
- to evaluate the characteristics of specific organizational contexts in a systemic (holistic) manner, namely by focusing the human beings (the athletes), their needs (motivation, self-esteem, self-realization, perceived self-efficacy, etc..) and their "natural limits" (physical and psychological);
- to consider sport organizations as sets of interpersonal processes capable to facilitate the transition from "state-oriented" behaviors (dominated by negative emotions) to "action-oriented" behaviors (characterized by rationality and effectiveness) in sport performance
- to improve the communication skills underlying the assertive behavior.
