Learning outcomes
Students will learn the basis of the ethnosemiotic theory and
methodology. This will lead them to well understand and manage the
"semiotic glance" with regard to the signification of the daily
practices and of the objetcs of the daily life.
Course contents
The course consists in a first part where the basis of the
ethnosemiotics will be exposed and a second part dedicated to
various analysis exercises.

Teaching methods
All along the course, discussing will be encouraged. In the second part of the course, students will be encouraged to give their own contribute in analysing texts.
Assessment methods
Oral test. Students have to demonstrate their knowledge of basic concepts and terminology of Ethnosemiotics. They have to demonstrate, moreover, to be able to approach with ethnosemiotic instruments the textual analysis. Eventually, a paper can be presented, with the agreement of the teacher.

Oral lessons. Some video materials useful for the examples of textual analysis.
