Learning outcomes

To describe the regulation of energy metabolism in humans depending on the amount of quality and quantity of dietary components and its functional status

Course contents

Main description of glucose metabolism, lipid and protein with particular reference to the metabolic and hormonal regulation of metabolic pathways as a function of dietary conditions and functional status of the individual; Adjusting caloric balance CNS, depending on the composition of nutrients with reference to the action of hormones and intestinal motor activity of the individual; Role of adipose tissue in the regulation of energy balance
