Learning outcomes
Evaluation and interpretation of DNA profiling. Knowledge of main concerns in forensic genetics. Evaluation of paternity testing. Knowledge of Y choromosome and mitochondrial DNA issues, polymorphism for forensic purposes.
Knowledge of application of pharmacogenetics in forensic field.
Course contents
Forensic genetics: identification and paternity testing. DNA profiling. SNPs analysis, Mitochondrial DNA analysis. Forensic Pharmacogenetics. Deficient paternity testing. Statistical analysis. Criminal DNA database. Informativeness and confidentiality.
