Course contents

Radioprotection dealing of the protection from ionizing radiation, has as its purpose, the preservation of the health of workers and the population as a whole, including environment. It's a topical discipline, given the scientific and industrial applications, accidental events - working and not - that, not only for the existing legislative requirements must be known by those who work with ionizing radiation for their own protection but, in health care must ensure, at the same time, the protection of patients ( and colleagues ). Starting from the normative aspects, will depth the biological and health issues that determine the damage from radiation , in order to understand the need for preventive and protective measures as strict as effective.Historical evolution of working conditions and historical notes of Radioprotection. Legislative framework for the protection of health in the workplace. Analysis of accidental events. General rules on work and health ( Constitution , Civil Code , Penal Code ) European Directive and national legislation. The legislative decrees 106/09 , 230/95 and 241/00. Biological effects of ionizing radiation: deterministic damage. Irradiation in uterus. Damage stochastic ( somatic and genetic ).Chronic and late effects of radiation. Doctrine of radioprotection: medical control of radioprotection. The protection of the patient .
