Learning outcomes
Students will be able to use the great amount of data that the numismatic evidence offers for the historical reading of a territory and the interpretation of the archaeological context. They will obtain all the critical notions necessary to interpret numismatic iconography as a fundamental source for the study of politic, religious and artistic history. Students will learn how to identify and date coins of various periods and how to create repertories and databases.

During the Course: checking step by step with pratical tests on numismatic materials.
Final test: oral examination on the knowledge and skills achieved.

Lessons with video projector and pratical exercises on Roman materials with use of repertories, catalogues and informatic sources for the historical interpretation of the numismatic source.
