Learning outcomes

Outcomes are intended as the learning of the basics in advanced sociology subdivided into three dimensions: theoretical (part I), methodological (part II) and applied (part III).
The third part is understood as a link to the curriculum in "Welfare and Social Policies" within the "laurea magistrale" OMA-Curriculum D (Percorso politiche sociali e del benessere) as delivered by the Faculty of Political Sciences.

Course contents

Part I: Introduction to advanced sociological theory
 
Part II: Sociological Analysis: Methodology in Relational Sociology
 
Part III: The sociology of work in the globalized society, with particular reference to the caring work in welfare services, within different societal configurations (lib/lab vs societary welfare policies) (applied sociology).

Teaching methods

Teaching methods are ordinary classes, ad hoc seminars, discussion groups.

Assessment methods

The methods to assess the level and quality of learning by students are periodical discussions during the classes hours and a final oral examination. 

Teaching tools

Didactical tools will be oral lectures and paper documents.
