Research Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee for Research performs an information-sharing and advisory role regarding issues connected with research ethics and bioethics, including through the promotion of training, research and discussion initiatives.

Its main tasks include analysing the ethical and bioethical aspects of research proposals and experimental protocols submitted for review by leaders of national and international research projects and by individual researchers and groups affiliated with the University’s scientific and teaching facilities, and also to express opinions on such ethical and bioethical aspects.

The members appointed for the three-year period 2025-2028 are: Linda Altieri, Fabio Bravo, Giulia Casu, Andrea Ceciliani, Stefania Curti, Alessandra De Palma, Paolo Fais, Tullia Gallina Toschi, Nicola Lacetera, Alice Mattoni (President), Veronica Moretti, Emanuel Raschi, Marco Sazzini, Silvia Zullo (Vice- president).

Submitting requests for evaluation by the Research Ethics Committee

To submit experimental requests for evaluation by the Research Ethics Committee, carefully complete the Request Form for the Research Ethics Committee and ensure all sections are filled out. Be sure to sign the form. Attach the required documents as outlined in the Guidelines for Submitting Requests for Review to the Research Ethics Committee [.pdf 240 KB] (in Italian only).

If the research proponent is an adjunct professor, RTD-B, RTD-A, or RTT researcher, the Department Director's signature is required, according to University Regulations (D.R.271/2009) and Rectoral Decree Rep. No. 22/2022, which designates the Department Director as responsible for implementing measures to protect personal data.

Submit the complete documentation (request form and attachments) to the Committee's Secretariat (contact section). Send the attached documents as separate files. Requests that do not adhere to the specifications outlined in the "Guidelines for Submitting Requests" will not be considered.

Ensure that requests are submitted by the end of the month to be considered in the following month.

IMPORTANT: Starting from 1 May 2023, only applications submitted using the new forms, available on this website, will be accepted for evaluation.

Please note that the Research Ethics Committee is not operational in August. Requests received in July and August will be reviewed in September.
