Departmental research

The competencies expressed in the Departments are integrated as indicated in their respective strategic plans, in line with the University’s Strategic Plan, in order to meet the research and innovation targets set by the EU and indicated by the EU Member States and Regions, in the field of the smart specialisation strategy.

Interdepartmental centres foster the integration of expertise and resources to solve global challenges, advance innovation and promote technology transfer. 

Research conducted by the Interdepartmental Centres for industrial research

The Industrial Interdepartmental Research Centres (CIRI) were created to enhance research, relations with the industry and the transfer of knowledge and technology in the local area, based on a Programme Agreement between the University of Bologna, Local bodies and the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government.
