"Un pozzo di scienza": visionaries for the future

“Un Pozzo di Scienza” (A Well of Science) is a science outreach programme designed especially for secondary schools.

The project addresses students aged 14 to 19, with the aim of stimulating their curiosity and developing useful skills to face the challenges of environmental, social and economic sustainability. The activities take place both in-person and online, on the basis of a schedule promoted by Gruppo Hera in cooperation with the University of Bologna, and address local schools. The initiatives forming part of this rich calendar of events run from January to May.

Discover science in action

"Un Pozzo di Scienza" offers more than forty activities in a variety of formats: science workshops, conferences with experts, educational games, tours of technological plants, interviews and TED talks. The experiential workshops are designed so that the students can "do" science and get hands-on with theoretical concepts on sustainability inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The discussion games offers opportunities to exchange ideas and collaborate in the sphere of science and technology. The science conferences provide an opportunity to meet and exchange views with researchers of the University of Bologna specialised in various disciplines. In-person and virtual tours of technological plants allow the young people to see how key resources such as water, energy and waste are managed. Finally, through Citizen Science activities, the young people can participate actively in research, contributing to the improvement and sustainable development of our society.
