Exchange students @unibo: Check-in

To start your mobility period both on-site and virtual, you need to check-in.

Online check-in to start on-site mobility and to change the mode of mobility from virtual to on-site

Book an appointment if required and access the virtual desk remotely after your arrival.

Notify the staff that you want to start an on-site mobility and show:

  • if you are a EU student: your passport or ID card;
  • if you are a non-EU student: passport with Visa;
  • your name inbound travel ticket to Italy (for example your flight ticket). The trip must already be done. If you do not have it, contact the Exchange Student Desk or the International Relations Offices on your Campus well in advance.

On Check-in you get:

  • your Certificate of Arrival (a Certificate of Attendance that only shows the mobility start date) with digital stamp.

You will also be sent an e-mail with a QR CODE that you will have to use to print your badge at one of the self-service machines at the University.

If you are a non-EU student, on Check-in you receive information about the Residence Permit and the Certificate of Arrival which you must enclose with your application.

Important:

  • the mobility start date is the first working day (Monday to Friday) following your entry into Italy, that you will prove with your name inbound travel ticket to Italy (for example your flight ticket in your name);
  • you can attend lectures even if you have not checked in yet.

Online Check-in to start remote (virtual) mobility

Book an appointment if required and access the virtual desks remotely.

Notify the staff that you want to start a remote (virtual) mobility and show your passport.

The staff will identify you and activate your career as a virtual exchange student. As a virtual exchange student you can fill in the study plan and, only until 31 May 2022, take the exams online. You will then be able to take the exams only in presence and you will therefore have to come in person to the University of Bologna.

Online lectures are also available before online Check-in, after registration.

On online Check-in you receive the Start of Mobility Certificate (a Certificate of Attendance that only shows the mobility start date) with digital stamp. Certificates in different formats will not be issued.

If you want to change the modalities of your mobility, from on-site to virtual, you only have to check out (for on-site mobility) and notify the staff that you want to continue your mobility remotely (virtual mobility).

Important! Online exams for exchange students @unibo will only be available until 31 May 2022. Subsequently, all exams will take place only in presence and you will therefore have to come in person to the University of Bologna.
