The Academic Senate of the University of Bologna has approved the proposal submitted by Rector Giovanni Molari to award an honorary degree in Architecture to Confindustria President Emanuele Orsini, one of the most prominent figures in Italy in the field of sustainable construction and the wood supply chain.

The best time to take a university oral exam is midday
According to an analysis of more than one hundred thousand university exams, an international team of researchers has shown that the moment in which students achieve the best results is around 12 p.m. This trend may be explained by the physiological rhythms that regulate cognitive abilities and mental fatigue.

Magma, Volcanos, Earthquakes: What is the Role of the Asthenosphere?
Financed by the INGV (National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology) and co-coordinated by the University of Bologna and INGV, SAKURA research project aims to study closely the part of the Earth’s mantle lying between 80 and 200 kilometres under the globe’s surface. The focus is on the Mediterranean area with a particular attention to both the Phlegraean Fields and Ischia, and the Adriatic Sea.
