Program
n the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, we celebrate the Day dedicated to women in science with a world café inspired by the values and goals of the Women for Quantum – Manifesto of Values.
Gender inequalities persist in physics and in many other scientific disciplines. Women remain significantly underrepresented in leadership roles and decision-making processes. To address this situation, an international group of women scientists has recently published the Women for Quantum – Manifesto of Values, highlighting the urgency of building a more inclusive and equitable scientific community. The manifesto places values such as collaboration, diversity, and shared authority at its core, outlining a vision to transform and rethink the field from a forward-looking perspective.
The session will open with a talk by Marilù Chiofalo, one of the authors of the manifesto, who will introduce the key themes and set the stage for a lively world café discussion. Participants will be invited to explore the main topics of the manifesto, reflect on the role of women in science, and imagine strategies to foster a more inclusive and equitable environment within scientific communities.
