Cristiana Cervini is Associate Professor in Educational Linguistics at the University of Bologna where she has been teaching since 2006. She holds a Phd in educational linguistics (P.E.F.LI.C., University of Macerata) where she has discussed a dissertation thesis entitled 'Learning foreign languages at variable “distances”: an action-research on hybrid learning, devices and formative processes' which has been awarded in 2013. After many years of different research grants on projects about language learning, applied linguistics and CALL, since 2012 she is responsible for the testing and evaluation digital and multilingual device called SELF (Système d'évaluation en langues à visée formative) within the project IDEFI Innovalangues. Author of more than thirty papers and two books in these fields, she has been qualified as 'maître de conférences' (associate professor or full researcher) in France in ‘Sciences du langage’ and 'Italian'. She has been research fellow at the University of Bologna for the ILOCALAPP project (ilocalapp.eu) where her research studies are especially focused on incidental lexical learning. In March 2017 she obtained the national scientific qualification (abilitazione scientifica nazionale) to function as associate professor in the field of 'Glottologia e Linguistica'.
