Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students (future teachers) with the knowledge and tools to design and implement effective chemistry teaching

Course contents

Presentation, course introduction. Learning environment. Overview of teaching methodologies: lecture, active learning, peer learning, flipped classroom. Collaborative and cooperative learning, the teacher's role. Useful teaching strategies for chemistry. Transmission model and stimulus-response model. Allosteric model. Inputs for designing a lecture: atom, chemical bonds, physical and chemical transformations. Role of the school: welcoming, meeting, growth and experience: discussion Examples of teaching methods used in chemistry: unidirectional model, dialogic model, team-teaching model, tutoring model, cooperative model, role-play model, flipped classroom model Chemical education and Chemistry education concept test (Mahaffay): triangular model and tetrahedral model.
