First cycle degree programme (L) in
Exercise and Sport Sciences (cod. 8766)
Also valid for Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Sciences and Techniques of Preventive and Adapted Physical Activities (cod. 9263)
Learning outcomes
At the end of the lessons the student will be able to describe and distinguish the different extracellular matrices which forming a continuous network, from the epidermis to bone, can play a role in transmitting external mechanical stimuli from the surface to the deep tissues. The student will recognize the anatomical structures including an extracellular matrix at rest and during joint movement to understand their function by palpation techniques.
Course contents
The basic knowledge of the anatomical structures of the human body will be deep through an innovative course of surface anatomy using observation and palpation techniques to identify anatomical structures including extracellular matrix (superficial and deep fasciae, muscle fasciae and corresponding muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and bones) from the surface to the deep tissues, during rest and joint movements.
Skull manual palpation
Shoulder manual palpation
Spine (thoracic and dorsal regions) manual palpation
Elbow region manual palpation
Hand manual palpation
Spine (lumbar region) and abdomen manual palpation
Pelvis region manual palpation
Knee region manual palpation
Foot manual palpation
