Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student acquires scientific and educational knowledge in the field of the physiopathology of motor activities, specifically in the field of internal medicine, metabolic diseases and cardiology. The student will be able to recognize signs and symptoms of some internal pathologies of interest in the sports field. The student will also know the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of specific pathologies
Course contents
Cardiovascular Physiopathology
Clinical case discussion.
• Diabetes mellitus, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and their complications: diagnostic criteria, etiopathogenesis, and clinical manifestations; in particular:
• Hyper- and hypoglycemia,
• Hyper- and hypotension,

Assessment methods
The final assessment will be a written multiple-choice test. Each module must be taken separately. The final score is derived from the weighted average of the two modules. The test determines a grade. Journal club activities conducted in the classroom reduce the number of quizzes the student will have to take by 50%, but do not determine a grade.
