Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows the history of German literature, its main authors and their texts, and the literary and cultural trends and movements that have characterized it.

Course contents

The course will deal with female figures in Gotthold Ephraim Lessin's work.

In particularly, il is dedicated to the a Minna von Barnhelm and Emilia Galotti. But, it will take in consideration also Recha and Daja of Nathan il Saggio and Miß Sara Sampson of the namesake tragedy.

The teacher will upload to Virtuale the materials and texts dealt with during the course and to be prepared for the exam. These materials have to be used only by the students of the course.

During the course, students are required to present a paper on a topic related to the course theme and agreed with the lecturer. (Non-attending students will present it during the exam.)
