Learning outcomes
The student, at the end of the course, will acquire knowledge about proper lifestyle habits and the values that should be transmitted to citizens to prevent the onset of cardiovascular diseases and certain cancers.
Course contents
Main determinants of longevity and well-being.
Health status profile in Italy.
Lifestyles. Nutrients, fruits and vegetables. Chrononutrition. Process contaminants. Packaging. Physiology of adipose tissue. Obesity. Dietary patterns and prevention of chronic diseases. Food allergies and intolerances. Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. Description of the most common dietary patterns. Foods, diets and supplements.

Teaching methods
The course comprises 2 CFU (in-person teaching).
Assessment methods
The final assessment consists of the administration of a written assignment containing an open-ended structured question, delivered through the virtual platform.
Intermediate evaluations are also planned.
The final grade for the Integrated Course will be weighted with the results obtained in the exams of the other course components taught by different instructors.
