Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will be able to plan educational interventions in the school and extracurricular areas, for formal and non-formal education, with a vision of lifelong learning. Going through the recent developments in scientific dissemination, he will come to deepen the concepts of public engagement and open education. Starting from the reference literature and from the observation of didactic activities (through the use of videos), he will be asked to reflect on the factors that favor learning and on some of the main strategies designed to develop soft skills and encourage learning at the highest levels of the knowledge process (Bloom's pyramid). Through cooperative learning and dialogued lessons, he will come to design a training intervention, having as reference the "Quality education" objective included in the UN 2030 Agenda.

Course contents

  • Scientific dissemination: TV programs, podcasts, digital videos on the net
  • From scientific dissemination to public engagement
  • Formal and non-formal education: how to design a training intervention

Readings/Bibliography

Corazza, Laura. Per una cittadinanza scientifica. Ed. Morcelliana, 2024.

Teaching methods

The teaching method used includes forms of active participation and co-construction of knowledge. Students are asked to participate by bringing their own ideas and working in small groups to solve real-world tasks. It will be possible to contribute to the realization of training or dissemination activities organized for the Department.

Assessment methods

Verification of learning consists of an oral exam, during which the student will present the training project designed individually or in a small group during the course of the lessons, with the help of a presentation according to the PITCH model.

Teaching tools

All the materials used in class are available in Virtual and are structured to be used also in self-learning (non-attending). The teaching adheres to the blended-learning experimentation and therefore uses the Teams platform for any remote connections.

For non-attending students: the structured material available in Virtuale is designed to meet the needs of students who are unable to attend lessons in person.

Students with learning disorders and\or temporary or permanent disabilities: please, contact the office responsible (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en/for-students ) as soon as possible so that they can propose acceptable adjustments. The request for adaptation must be submitted in advance (15 days before the exam date) to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments, taking into account the teaching objectives.
