At the end of the workshop, the student
- knows how to apply what was covered in the integrated course within a simulated learning environment;
- can reflect critically in a group on the proposed topics.
Course contents
TITLE: Sensory disability and access to reading
The workshop is mainly concerned with developing, in a logic of co-construction, an inclusive didactic proposal that allows access to reading, as the main tool for access to culture, for everyone. In particular, attention will be paid to the special questions that teachers are asked when there is a pupil with sensory impairment in the classroom.
The final aim will be to identify, analyse and manage situations involving sensory disabilities, through the use of theoretical, conceptual and methodological tools that encourage the exercise of critical reflection and the clarification of professional skills aimed at working with the child with disabilities, in and with his/her class.
The workshop, which will take place in a participative format, will allow the knowledge of the main characteristics of a tactile book and the realisation of an initial prototype.
Readings/Bibliography
The texts that will serve as a theoretical reference for the topics covered in the workshop are, in particular:
- tactile books that will be brought into the classroom by the lecturer
- Friso Valeria; Vidotto Margherita, Lettura, infanzia e disabilità visiva. Un connubio possibile?, «CQIA RIVISTA», 2019, 9, pp. 103 - 112 [articolo]Open Access
- Bridda Roberta. ABC. I primi passi per la realizzazione di un libro tattile illustrato. Ediz. illustrata. Con kit. 2023
- Caldin Roberta, De visu. Disabilità visiva e agire educativo, Trento, Erickson, 2023
Other possible materials will be included on Virtual
Teaching methods
Activities will be proposed through a structured sequence of analogue and metaphorical actions, ensuring a protected environment in which it is possible to make mistakes, try and try again, test oneself, learn from successes and mistakes.
An environment will be provided for planned learning that enables one to become more effective in doing one's work.
Assessment methods
The evaluation of the Workshop will cover:
- active participation;
- the production (individual or group) of the required product(s);
- the reference to bibliographical sources;
- the ability to succinctly link the content presented to personal experience.
In addition to active participation, the Workshop involves the production of a “workshop product” defined by the teacher (report, teaching project, life story, etc.).
The evaluation of the Workshop involves four assessments
REJECTED: Lab to be re-attended;
-1;
0;
+1.
The evaluation will be made known by the lecturer via the lecturer's web page and will contribute, taking into account the average grade for the various teaching modules, to defining the final exam grade. This assessment will remain valid until the final grade is recorded.
