At the end of the course, the student has the essential knowledge for a deeper understanding of the methodologies and diagnostic significance of biochemical parameters of major relevance to the profession of Biomedical Laboratory Technician.

- Chemical, biological and physical hazards

- The phases of an analytical process: pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases

- Laboratory error

- Spectrophotometric techniques

- Immunometry

- ECLIA (Electrochemiluminescence)

- ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay)

- Mass spectrometry

- Turbidimetry

- Nephelometry

- Potentiometry

- Main biochemical parameters: lipid profile, thyroid profile, pancreatic and liver enzymes, main tumour markers

Assessment methods

The exam consists of a written test with 11 multiple-choice questions. There are three possible answers for each question, only one of which is correct.
