Maria Raffaella Barbaro

Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine and Surgery (DIMEC), University of Bologna. She obtained her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology and she subsequently qualified in Clinical Pathology. Her research interests include functional gastrointestinal diseases, particularly IBS, intestinal permeability, gut microbiota, neurogastroenterology and immunity. She has authored numerous indexed peer-reviewed articles and has received several awards and recognitions from prestigious national and international centers and institutes.
