88025 - LABORATORIO DI TECNICHE DI PRESENTAZIONI IN PUBBLICO (B)

Academic Year 2025/2026

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Forli
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in International relations and diplomatic affairs (cod. 8048)

Learning outcomes

The workshop aims to develop the following skills in students:

  • the ability to present in public, through the analysis and discussion of classic texts and press reviews, practising clear, structured and effective communication;
  • the ability to analyse and discuss current political affairs, compiling press reviews based on articles from Italian and foreign daily and weekly newspapers, and relating contemporary debates to major international political issues, always presenting them to the public;
  • the ability to present short press reviews.

Course contents

The workshop is divided into two complementary parts:

  • Classical texts and history of political thought: the lecturer will present and comment on fundamental texts in the history of political thought and political science, focusing on topics such as power, freedom and equality. After the lecturer's introduction, students will also be asked to present selected texts, practising critical analysis and oral presentation.
  • Press review: alongside the study of the classics, students will work on articles from Italian and foreign daily and weekly newspapers. The lecturer will propose examples of thematic reviews and, subsequently, students will develop their own, putting into practice their ability to select, connect and discuss different sources.

Overall objective: the workshop is not limited to providing tools for the critical reading of classical texts and current political affairs. The main objective is that, through the comparison of different materials and their presentation, students learn to speak in public in a clear, structured and convincing manner, developing skills that are useful both in their studies and in their professional lives.
