Teaching methods
Lectures, in Italian language.
Assessment methods
The ORGANISATION AND LABOUR LAW course is split between two subjects taught by different lecturers: BUSINESS ORGANISATION LABORATORY (4 credits) and LABOUR LAW (6 credits).
The exam dates for the two subjects are different and registration for the exam is done through the usual university applications (https://almaesami.unibo.it/almaesami/welcome.htm).
IF STUDENTS ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, THEY MUST CANCEL THEIR REGISTRATION FOR THE EXAM.
The grade obtained in the subject Labour Law is recorded within a few hours of taking the exam. Students may refuse the grade by informing the lecturer immediately. Within one week of taking the exam, each student is required to check that the grade has been recorded correctly using the university's dedicated IT application. If this is not the case, they must notify Prof. Casale by email within the same one-week period following the exam.
The final overall grade for the course will be calculated as the weighted average of the grades obtained in the two subjects mentioned above, rounded to the nearest whole number, and will be recorded a few weeks after the exam for the last subject taken: students are invited to request it by email from the lecturers only in cases of important and documented urgency, e.g. imminent deadlines for scholarships.
IMPORTANT: exams for both subjects (Labour Law and Business Organisation Laboratory) must be taken in the same year (12 months from October to September), i.e. for the academic year beginning in September 2025, both exams must be taken by September 2026: the grade obtained in one of the two subjects will lose its value if a sufficient grade is not obtained in the other subject by September 2026. Transitional arrangements for students from previous academic years: grades obtained before the start of classes in September 2025 in one of the two subjects of this integrated course will retain their value until September 2026.
The exam consists of an oral interview. The interview will focus on topics related to those indicated in the “Readings/Bibliography” section of this web page. The valuation of the exam will be inspired, by way of example, at the following criteria:
scarcely sufficient preparation on the topics of the exam, poor critical ability and difficulty in using the technical-legal language → 18-21;
more than sufficient or discreet preparation on the topics of the exam with critical skills and use of technical-legal language → 22-25;
good or more than good preparation on the topics of the exam with adequate critical skills and ability in the use of the technical-legal language → 26-28;
substantially exhaustive preparation on the topics of the exam with high critical ability and full capacity in the use of the technical-legal language → 29-30-30L".
Teaching tools
Lecturer's notes as pdf files of slides will be made available through UniBO website for teaching materials on some of the topics, for clarification or synthesis purposes.
Regulatory texts or case law (not to be studied as an additional load, but useful to aid understanding of the topics explained in class) may be also distributed through UniBO website.
