Course contents

At the end of the Histology course, the student will have developed the fundamental skills needed to understand the morpho-functional organization of the main organs and tissues of the human body. They will be able to recognize and describe the specific cellular features of each tissue and relate these structures to their physiological functions.

In particular, the student will acquire:

  • the ability to perform microscopic observations of histological samples;

  • the knowledge necessary to identify and distinguish the various tissue types (epithelial, connective, muscular, nervous);

  • an understanding of the general organization of tissues and their integration within different organs;

  • the foundations for interpreting the relationships between structure and function at both the cellular and tissue levels.

These skills provide an essential basis for further studies in biomedical, pathophysiological, and clinical fields.
