Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Percorso abilitante in AD24 - Lingue e Culture Straniere negli Istituti di Istruzione Secondaria di II Grado (Tedesco) (cod. 6090)

Learning outcomes

The course aims to take up the knowledge and skills possessed by the trainees and consolidate them for the purpose of sound theoretical and practical preparation. It will focus, on the one hand, on communicative competence in the foreign language and, on the other hand, on 'knowledge' of the language and its development. 'Knowledge' of language, like that of culture and literature, is an important component of modern foreign language teaching. In addition, the trainees will learn, among other things, how to select and didactically support teaching and learning aids for their class, how to adapt additional materials for their lessons, and how to enrich lessons through the use of digital media.

Course contents

The course program is structured according to different “knowledge categories” (Wissenskategorien): (diskursive Landeskunde, Literatur, Zeitgeschichte, Kultur; discursive regional studies, literature, contemporary history, culture). It places, in addition, emphasis on functional communication skills, particularly oral skills and language skills. On this basis, greater emphasis will be placed on textual and media skills, knowledge of, among other topics, such as (1) Sprachwandel and -kritik, (2) Standardvarietäten des Deutschen, (3) Gesprochene Sprache im DaF-Unterricht, (4) linguistic landscape, etc., and reflection on language and language use. Learners should be able to cope with oral and written tasks that require explanations, reasoned comments and creative projects.

Readings/Bibliography

The bibliography of the practical module will be announced during the lessons.

Teaching methods

In addition to face-to-face teaching at the beginning, the key concept of communicative foreign language teaching is emphasized throughout the course. Presentations by participants and practical exercises complement the teaching.

Assessment methods

Subject to ascertaining the minimum percentage of attendance and the delivery of any required exercises during the course, the assessment of learning of the teaching content is concurrent with the final test for the acquisition of the teaching qualification in the competition class of the training pathway, provided for in Art. 9 of the Prime Minister's Decree of August 4, 2023.
