Short Bio

Full Professor of German Languages, linguistics, literature, culture and of Comparative Literature. In 2002 and 2005 he has been Visiting fellow at the Department of German Studies at Brown University (Rhode Island; USA), in 2013 Visiting professor at the University of Casablanca Hassan II (Marocco) within ERASMUS MUNDUS and in Winter Semester 2014/15 he has been Visiting Professor at the Institut für Deutsch als Fremdsprachenphilologie at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) within the excellence initiative. In the Spring Semester 2017 he has been Max Kade Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Rhode Island (Kingston, R.I.). Fields of research: policy of foreign languages, language of the new media (Blog, Chat, Twitter ...), spoken language, German as a foreign language, Comparative Literature, Thematics and E.T.A.Hoffmann. Engaged in national and international research projects he coordinated for the Italian side the QuILL project [https://quill.pixel-online.org/] funded by the European Commission (2020-1-PT01-KA226-HE-094809).
