Learning outcomes
- Understand the main disorders of the immune system (immunodeficiency, allergy, autoimmunity, and autoinflammation);
- Estimate the change in the probability of disease resulting from the execution of a diagnostic test;
- Identify the main causes of secondary immunodeficiency, and suspect the existence of a primary immune deficiency;
- Recognize the main allergies in their common manifestations, and establish a first treatment plan;
- Learn how to diagnose and treat anaphylaxis;
- Learn how to suspect the presence of autoimmune disease;
- Have an overview of the options currently available for the suppression and potentiation of the immune system;
- Know the clinical manifestations of the main autoimmune diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver;
- Know the clinical manifestations of the main connective tissue disease;
- Have a general understanding of vasculitides that will aid in their differential diagnosis.
