Learning outcomes
The student at the end of the course possess specialist skills and can apply advanced research methods in the field of studies on military history of the classical world, the Homeric age to Late Antiquity. He/she can recognize, on the basis of the analysis of sources of various kind, how the war was - also on the anthropological level- a constant and sometimes critical element of ancient societies. Students are able to appreciate the value of collaboration among different disciplines and to choose opportunities and tools to update their knowledge.

Assessment methods
The exam consists of an oral interview. The conversation will evaluate the critical and methodological skills of the student, invited to to deal with the issues discussed in the course; in particular, the examination will assess students’approaches with respect to sources and bibliographical material related to the course contents and the cultural.aspcts of the discipline When combined with expressive mastery and specific language such capabilities will be evaluated with marks of excellence. In accordance, lower levels of reflection, analysis or language will result in progressively more modest valuations. It is clear that gaps or errors in knowledge and inappropriate language will be evaluated negatively.
