Course contents
On Body. Reflections from a bioethical point of view
The course preliminary deals with an argumentative definition of bioethics.
It focuses on the idea of body, considered in a non-dualistic view. On the ground of Canguilhelm’s and Foucault’s theories, the course underlines the importance of rethinking illness/disease and health.
Political ideology of the body, body’s rejection, body’s reification, violence against women and children are questions of the second part of the course.
