Learning outcomes

Students need to know useful traditional and up to date tools to be used in Translation for Special Purpose. They will have to learn how to applu them to different texts and contexts in the field of editorial translation and strategies. They will also have to  learn how to edit texts and how to identify useful strategies to be used for texts' communicative functions.

Course contents

Students will be asked to produce translations that need to be assessed as 'good quality'. Texts will be analysed both from the point of view content and function. The course will stress the importance of editing processes in editorial translation.

Teaching methods

Translation and individual or collective assessment.

Lessons will be presented as Practical labs as well as theory

Assessment methods

Translation of 1500 words (according to difficulty) to be done at home, on one of the subjects covered during lessons. The translation should be handed in via email.
