Learning outcomes
The student, at the end of the course, is capable to interpret the main results of the diagnostic laboratory.
Course contents
Counting of blood cells with automated white blood cell
differential count. Diseases of red blood cells. Bleeding and
thrombotic disorders. Plasma glucose, diabetes mellitus and
vascular complications. Hyperlipidemia. Obesity and metabolic
syndrome. Laboratory assays for evaluating liver, kidney, heart and
blood vessels functionality. Transfusion medicine.
