Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to: Understand the basic elements of the activation of the public system of emergency. Acquire the basic knowledge of first aid.

Course contents

Definition of First Aid and tasks of the rescuer • Security Scene Safety, Safety of rescuer, safety of  injured patient • Alarm Call to 118 • Priorities for action Concept of Gravity Concept of Urgency • Examination of the injured according to the progression: Airway, Breathing, Circulation. Introduction to BLS protocol,
Anatomy and Physiology of the Respiratory System • Anatomy and Physiology of the Cardiovascular System Angina, Heart Attack Cardio Circulatory Arrest (ACC) (outline) • Main features of trauma and diseases encountered in the workplace and related interventions Haemorrhage, amputations Shock or hemorrhagic shock  main features burns (thermal and chemical), electric shock and electrocution, injury from cold  Heatstroke Trauma, Musculoskeletal anatomy, dislocations, sprains, fractures, fractures of the cervical spine Syncope and dizziness asthma, anaphylactic shock poisoning (injection, inhalation, ingestion) seizures (epilepsy)
