Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will know the main classes of natural organic compounds and the secondary metabolites biogenetic pathways. In particular he/she will know acetyl Co-A and its role in the biosynthesis of natural organic compounds such fatty acids. He/she will be able to recognize other classes of compounds such as polyketides, shikimic acid, terpenes, steroids, alkaloids and their biosynthesis.
