Learning outcomes

Basic elements of deterministic signals characterization and processing in time and frequency domain. A/D-D/A conversion. Elements of probability theory.

Course contents

- Introduction: signals and their processing. Communication systems and networks.
- Analysis of signals through the Fourier transform. Continuos-time and discrete-time signals and their spectral characterization.
- Linear time-invariant systems. The system transfer function.
- Baseband analog and digital signals. Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion.
- Finite power signals, power spectrum.
- Elements of probability theory.
