and
G.Boccali, S.Piano, S. Sani, Le letterature dell'India , Torino, UTET, 2000 (recommended);

Alberto Pelissero, Letterature classiche dell'India, Brescia, Morcelliana, 2007.

For students who do not intend to take the Indology exam:
A.L. Basham, The Wonder That Was India , London 1967 - the latter text is available in Library Reference room, Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Orientali, Via Zamboni 33, and is required reading for English-language students, in lieu of Boccali et al. Le letteratura dell'India . It does not substitute for Della Casa's Corso di sanscrito.

Students who prefer an individual program in English for the Sanskrit language part of the course may resort to: Ashok Aklujkar, Sanskrit, An Easy Introduction to an Enchanting Language , Svadhyaya Publications, Vancouver, 2000 (available in multiple copies at Dept. Library). Please contact prof. Passi before attempting to tackle prof. Aklujkar's SEL on your own!
