Learning outcomes

The course will help the student to improve the knowledge on prostatic neoplasia that nowadays represents one of the cancer with the greater social and epidemiological impact ( it is first neoplasia affecting men over 50 in western countries). The course will focus in particular on innovations in diagnostic and therapy of prostate cancer.

Course contents

1st  DAY:

-         Introduction to prostatic neoplasia: etiology, diagnosis and therapy  (2 hours)

2nd DAY:

-         Surgical anathomy: laparotomic vs laparoscopic approach (2 hours)

-         Video: open radical prostatectomy (1hour)

3rd DAY:

-         Surgical session: open radical prostatectomy (4 hours)

4th DAY:

-         Surgical instruments for laparoscopy and simulation laboratory (2 hours)

-         Video: laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (1hour)

5th DAY:

-         Surgical session: laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (4 hours)
