Learning outcomes

The purpose is to give students a basic knowledge of digital-analogic electronics in order to understand how on-line data acquisition systems work

Course contents

A review of electronic logic families, combinational and sequential digital systems Basic Knowledge is also given on power supplies, linear amplifier with feedback, operational amplifier, A/D and D/A converter, sample/hold circuit, analogic multiplexers and design of simple analog signal conditioning circuits including excitation, amplifying, filtering, linearizing, isolating, and offsetting. Programmable chips: PIO,TIMER, USART, CRT and DMA controller, interrupt methods and simple applications. Transducer characterisation. Temperature, force, pressure, flow, level, position, acoustic, optical and image transducers.
